Hunting

Our hunting area consists of approximately 275 square miles of the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness. All our hunts are horse pack in and tent camp hunts. We hunt units 27 and unit 28 and use six to eight different camps throughout the season depending on weather, season dates and hunting success. You may book a hunt as one hunter per guide or two hunters per guide. Sorry, we do not offer drop camps.

Our elk country is steep and rough with elevations from 3500 ft. to 10,000 ft. with camps located from 5000 to 8000 ft. Our success is around 45% take and 80% opportunity. Our success rate does not imply easy hunting, it simply means we hunt hard and have an excellent population of trophy animals to hunt.

Camps consist of pole-framed wall tents with wood stoves and four-inch foam pads on bunks in the hunters' tents, a large cook tent, guide tents, and tack tents. We run one to three camps at a time, with usually four hunters per camp.  You may book a hunt as one hunter per guide or two hunters per guide. But unless you come with a good friend we will book you in as an one on one hunter.

Our camp has a full time cook and camp jack. Our food is exceptional and the camp jack will normally light your fire and bring you coffee or beverage in the morning. The camp jack will pack out meat as soon as feasible.

We also have several excellent taxidermists in town if you wish to use their services.
